Figma Kamen Rider Strike

This is the review of Figma Kamen Rider Strike or also known as Ouja while his real name in Shewsbury Land is actually Nageshwar Chaudry. In certain part of the world people also call him as Vikram Lal or Victor Lau - that is all depending on which region you live in or which name you prefer, for sure, this guy is a snake.... LOL...

If you watch the original Japanese Kamen Rider Ryuki (or the American adaptation - Masked Rider Dragon Knight), you will surely know this mother fucker. He is the villain and he is no pussy. He is indeed quite brutal and stronger than Popeye the Sailor Man who depends a lot on weeds before he can triple his erection and strength.

The price for this item (from HLJ) is 2,857 yen (about SGD 43 / USD 33 - before adding shipment charges).

Let's have a close look at the figure;

The painting and the detailing are excellent.

This chest armor is kind of a little too big.... not so much, but I think still kind of "over-sized"

That chest armor caused some problems on the arm/shoulder articulation, in a way it limited the free movement of the arm/shoulder...

Apart from that, they only other problem which we highlighted since the review of Figma Ryuki is the pants design issue near the pelvis joint..... the same issue applies to all Kamen Riders produced by Figma/Max Factory.

Nonetheless, not many realized or give a fuck about it anyway... so fuck with it, why should we give a fuck as well. Despite the issues, the design still works and that is the opinion of the designers.... so let's move on...

Articulation is excellent and matched the usual Figma standard. This usual kneeling pose is never a problem;

And you can do plenty of action pose that you can think off....

The card with cobra head logo on it.... no relation with those Cobra from G.I. Joe though....

They also includes a hand to specifically holding the card;

The Sword Vent.... brilliant gold color, in the old days, this would be nice to spank those naughty school children who committed serious misconduct like masturbating during class time....

During my school days, even at the age of 16 and 17, our teachers will spanked us if we don't behave or forget to do our homework or failed our exam. For serious misconduct, they will even give us a slap on the face.

Nonetheless for us back then, no offense and none taken, we fully understand that the teacher try to make us to be a better person.... if we don't do wrong, then there is no punishment anyway, simple as that... some of the kids and parents nowadays are so crap that even a tiny pinch from the teachers they will start thinking about taking the matter to court.... which is why many of the kids nowadays are kind of spoiled.... it's never easy to be a teacher you know... people expect them to do make the kids become genius but no body ever understand how difficult the task is and instead they always blame the teachers. Though we also aware that not all teachers are perfect, but overall, being teachers is never an easy tasks. It is much easier to just talk bad and complain about them.

This Sword Vent is made by "Kumar & Parvesh Factory" in China Town of Shewsbury Land.

The Cobra Scepter made by "Wong Brothers, China Town Branch".

The detailing is quite decent.... nothing great but nothing bad either....

Final Vent.... Rajkapoor Snake Attack;

There is an old saying that goes like this; "Snakes can't be a dragon and can't ever beat a dragon" - in other word, don't try to be too ambitious... sometimes we have to learn to cope with our surroundings and make the best out of it and leave the rest to Hollywood movie....

Overall, this is a good action figure adaptation of Kamen Rider with Figma elements all over it produced by Max Factory. With the reasonable price, I'm sure that many fans of Kamen Rider Ryuki series who missed the previous action figures/toys produced by Bandai many years ago can now have the second chance to start collecting again. For it's price, I think this figure worth every dollar you spent on it - especially if you are a big fan of the series and character.

Furthermore according to Gunasekaran Muthusamy Thambiraj, Bandai will soon start rolling out the S.H. Figuarts offering for the Kamen Rider Ryuki series and we can expect a "big bang" from Bandai counter attack to Max Factory popular products.

Time will tell what Bandai can offer to make us say that their S.H. Figuarts adaptations are better than the Max Factory products though from what I knew now, the Ryuki will come with a nice long dragon - maybe a bigger version from the one that were produced by Bandai in their "R&M series" many years ago.

We look forward to it.... if it's Ryuki, usually we will get it.... ^_^

This is the review for Figma Kamen Rider Wing Knight from the US TV series adaptation of Kamen Rider Ryuki known as Kamen Rider Dragon Knight.

The box;

Out of the box...

You will get the Figma (figure);

The Advent Beast, the bat Black Wing and a fabric cape;

The weapons, card and extra hands....

And the standard Figma plastic bag and action base/display stand....

Let's have a look at the figure;

A little close up look on the figure;

Articulation wise is superb as what we would expect from a typical Figma. The usual kneeling pose is never a problem.

This Advent Beast with fabric cape is quite cool....

The attachment method is as simple as it should be - plug and play....

The card, this is the close up.... not much to see really....

Not much to mention, after our experience with Figma Kamen Rider Ryuki (Kamen Rider Dragon Knight) I know exactly what to expect from this one and thus we go directly to action pose;

Overall, this is a nice action figure for Kamen Rider Wing Knight and the fans of the series will surely would love to get this figure into their collections. I personally feel that the weapon and all the other accessories are decently detailed and there is not much to complain about. I have highlighted the complain that I had on the design of the Figma (certain part of it) in the previous review for Figma Kamen Rider Ryuki (Kamen Rider Dragon Knight) - basically it's the same on this one, mainly on that pelvis/hip area but then again it is not enough to make this figure as the worst thing ever existed since Felipe Massa.

Figma Kamen Rider Dragon Knight

This is the review of Figma Kamen Rider Dragon Knight (also known as Kamen Rider Ryuki in Japan and the rest of Asia).

Yeah, for some of you the regular visitors of Shewsbury Land you might already noticed that this is the 4th Kamen Rider Ryuki we reviewed here and I can't blame you if you thought that Kamen Rider Ryuki is my most favorite modern Kamen Rider but eventually Kamen Rider Faiz is still my No. 1 favorite (in terms of action figure) because he have mobile phones and followed by this Kamen Rider Ryuki at No. 2 because of the gorgeous dragon.

Nonetheless, let's start the review now;

A little information about this "Kamen Rider: Dragon Knight" from Wikipedia;

Kamen Rider: Dragon Knight is the Daytime Emmy Award-winning American adaptation of the Japanese tokusatsu series Kamen Rider Ryuki, the twelfth installment of the Kamen Rider Series.

It was brought to television by Steve and Michael Wang and produced by Jimmy Sprague through Adness Entertainment. The series had a sneak premiere on December 13, 2008, but started official broadcasting on January 3, 2009 and played throughout the year. Adness chose to adapt Ryuki over the other Heisei Rider shows as it has a large number of characters (Ryuki had 13 Riders in total) as well as a female Rider.

It is also the first tokusatsu adaptation of a Kamen Rider Series since Saban's Masked Rider, which was adapted from Kamen Rider Black RX. The show first aired in the United States on The CW Television Network during its The CW4Kids programming block.

Statements by director Steve Wang and male lead Stephen Lunsford show that The CW had dropped Dragon Knight at the end of the year before its final two episodes aired in the US. The final episodes were uploaded to the 4Kids TV website on December 18, 2009.

In the early licensing information for the series, Adness Entertainment had intended to also film a feature-length movie for Dragon Knight. In an interview, Steve Wang stated that they had written a story for a film, but Adness was raising money to bring over another Kamen Rider for broadcast in the US rather than a film or a second season of Dragon Knight.

In 2010, Dragon Knight was nominated for and won the Daytime Emmy Award for "Outstanding Stunt Coordination", a new category for the Daytime Emmys.

Interesting though to see that there is Medicom Toy logo beside the usual Max Factory logo on the box.

I don't really know why, but my guess is that it's either Max Factory and Medicom share the licensing for the toys/figures stuff for the series OR maybe Max Factory and Medicom co-developed this figure together.

Just a wild guess, only Max Factory knew the real reason....

At the back we can see the logo of "Ishimori Production" and "Toei" and of course "Adness Entertainment".

OK, out of the box....

You will get all these stuff;

And all these stuff - Guard Vent, Drag Visor, Strike Vent, Sword Vent, Figma Stand, extra hands, Advent Card, optional equipment to attached the Guard Vent onto the arms, manual and the standard Figma plastic bag...

The Advent Card is quite tiny;

But thanks to the Raynox DCR-250 Macro Lens, we can enlarge the view;

This is the first time I see Max Factory use clear version for this "hands storage terminal" - that's what I call it - basically you will put all the extra hands there when not in use.

As usual, let's have a look at the figure;

From the look of it, it seems obvious that the sculpt and details almost matching to that Kamen Rider Ryuki from Bandai's Twist Action Form series.

Nothing flashy or too much detailed like the one from S.I.C. Kiwami Tamashii, simple and neat, just like the one we saw on TV.

Articulation is pretty good, exactly what we expect from Figma. However the moment I did this usual kneeling post, I straight away spotted the main disappointment or rather the main issue or weakness or complain on this Figma.

I hope you can see the explanation from the photos below;

Basically the issue appear from the material chosen for that section marked with yellow. I think this also because of the design factor. It makes me think a little while on the reason why Max Factory choose this material and design - though at the end, I gave up and don't know why.

My guess is that maybe Max Factory try hard not to imitate Bandai style on that area - possibly they worried if people (especially Bandai) accused them of copying Bandai design 100% and thus to avoid any trouble, they decide to design it differently.

Or maybe Max Factory just want to make their Figma looks different from those produced by Bandai in the past.

Again, it is just a wild guess.... only Maki Asai and Max Factory know the real reason.

Looks ugly this way right?

Again, for me personally, doesn't look pretty;

The reason I put in lot's of efforts to to also includes the unhappy smiley face there and also that thumbs down picture is because I will later highlight this to Maki Asai as a reference so that they can improve on this part in the future. I'm not good in Japanese and similarly Maki Asai is not that fluent in English either so I hope the photo can tell the story.

Not really as a complain because nothing much they can do to change the production model now, way too late for that but rather just as something for them to look into and consider for future development.

We'll never new if in the future Max Factory will maybe produce another Figma of Kamen Riders.... there are many of them.... so the possibility is there.

Apart from the kneeling pose - if you do any other type of action pose, you won't really encounter that annoyance actually, so it's a concern but not a fatal one, I can live with it...

I would also like to highlight something about the Drag Visor;

This part of the Drag Visor is made from a soft material;

So be careful not to use knife or scissor on that part....

The Sword Vent is quite nice, the detailing is decent.

Some pose with that tiny Advent Card...

Usually at first, Kamen Rider Ryuki will just fight using his arms and legs but depending on the situation, he do need to power up and get some additional weapons from the Advent Card.

The Sword Vent conjures a dragon-designed broadsword - a normal, generic longsword that broke easily and cannot be use to cut a condom LOL....

The Guard Vent attach dragon-like guards on his arms...

And before we proceed, I would like to highlight something on this part as well. Basically it's quite troublesome as you need to do some part swapping as explained from several photos below;

Once done, you can then attached the Guard Vent...

And now we ready for some masturbation..... I mean some action LOL;

The Strike Vent attach a dragon-like gauntlet on his right hand to shoot a burst of flames, assisted by Dragredder. He actually got this as free gift from one of those McDonalds Happy Meal promotions LOL...

Seriously, the dragon head is detailed nicely;

And it also features some articulation on the mouth as below;

Roarrrrr!!! ready for blow job? This dragon will eat your penis....

OK, let's do something fun with this Strike Vent;

If you wondered, the Dragon is actually the transformable FFR02 Kamen Ryuki Dragreder

Enough with that nonsense, now it's time for the Final Vent;

Final Vent will summons Dragreder for Dragon Knight's Final Vent. It consists of him jumping into the air, delivering a flying side kick powered by Dragreder's flames.

In Shewsbury Land, this typical Kamen Rider kick (Final Vent) is popular known as Slutty Bitch Kick - damn deadly even a Gundam can't handle it....

Overall this is indeed a nice Figma of Kamen Rider Ryuki (Masked Rider Dragon Knight). The design, sculpt, detailing and accessories is brilliant though it will be nicer if they also includes the Dragon as well LOL (thus this will surely hike the price further). We do have some complaints on this one as highlighted above but that doesn't make this Figma a terrible one by any standard. We think that this is still a good Figma overall 7 out of 10 - simple as that.

As at the day of this review, if I'm not mistaken, Bandai haven't released any S.H. Figuarts for Kamen Rider Ryuki and I think that will be the comparison that we can actually use for this Figma judging from the price level of 3,048 yen (about SGD 48.00 before adding shipment charges - which is not cheap) and I personally wonder what improvement Bandai can provide over this Figma.... this indirectly makes me look forward to see the response from Bandai in the future.

I'm not sure if Kamen Rider fans, especially Kamen Rider Ryuki fans (in Japan and Asia) wanted this Figma desperately - though I do believe that some of them will buy this Figma and this can be a boost for Max Factory market penetration in the USA as the series English (or rather American) adaptation seems to be quite popular there.

From what I gathered, when it comes to Kamen Rider action figures, many people still somehow prefer those S.H. Figuarts series from Bandai (Bandai is smiling) and if that is true, then Max Factory really need to sharpen up a bit in this Kamen Rider stuff if they seriously think want to steal some market share and business from those S.H. Figuarts collectors currently dominated (or rather controlled and manipulated) by Bandai.

Next, I need to highlight those issues to Maki Asai.... sigh....

Figma Dead Master

This is the review of Figma Dead Master from the OVA "Black Rock Shooter".

Dead Master is Black Rock Shooter's antagonist and Yomi's darkened persona. She merged with Yomi after she became jealous of Yuu and was taken to the "Other World." She is also the only "Other World" character to be shown in the Human World, albeit very briefly.

Similar to a Gothic Lolita costume, Dead Master's clothing consists of a black dress and a black bolero; her dress extends down to her thighs and is accented with a white ribbon attached to her waist. She also wears a pair of leggings and a pair of black pumps. She wears a pair of black gauntlets on each hand. Her most striking physical feature is her two black horns made of black vertebra.

Max Factory use several different materials combination for this Figma, which is quite impressive...

Due to the design, it's quite difficult for this Figma to do the kneeling pose...

Dead Master uses three weapons in her battle with Black Rock Shooter. Her primary weapon is her Dead Scythe. It has multiple short scythes under the main scythe blade and a vertebra-like feature at the end of the handle.

The Dead Scythe serves as her close quarters combat weapon but is destroyed in battle when Black Rock Shooter shoots its main blade off with her cannon.

Her second weapons are her chains which serve as her mid-range weapons. She manages to capture Black Rock Shooter in them but they are also broken when Black Rock Shooter frees herself and devolves her last chain.

Her third weapons are her large two "Dead Skulls" which serve as her partners in both her long-range and close-range combat. They have glowing green orbits and mouths. They are also destroyed by Black Rock Shooter with her Bladed mode cannon.

Let's have a look at the 2 Dead Skulls (Dumb and Dumber)...

The mouth is openable... like this;

In a way, I personally view them as DRAGOON system or Funnel or Fang as they can be controlled remotely by using strong quantum brainwaves....

The Dead Scythe;

The painting scheme is quite nice....

And not much to highlight anymore.... its action pose time....

Naturally you would love to get Dead Master so that you can do the battle scene between Dead Master and BRS.

Well, I guess that is enough, I can go on and on and end up we have too many photos for this review and thus I better stop here. I'm sure that if you also have both of them, you recreate the battle scene all over again to your liking.... a lesbian sexual act would be even better....

Overall, this another nice Figma and a natural companion for Figma BRS that comes with cool weapon and that unique 2 Dumb Skull..... I mean Dead Skull....

Figma Canaan

This is the review of Figma Canaan from the anime Canaan.

Canaan is the main protagonist of the anime, a mercenary operating in Shanghai. She was the only survivor of a village destroyed by war in the Middle East before being found and trained by Siam, who later code-named her as Canaan.

She developed a respect for her mentor during the course of her training, and later to Alphard as well (Siam's former student who she saw as an older sister figure).

But when Alphard betrayed both her and Siam during a mission and left Siam to die, Canaan was consumed by the quest for revenge. Canaan often gets serious whenever she sees Alphard.

As an elite mercenary, Canaan is also a skilled marksman and an expert of combat, her weapon of choice most of the time being a Beretta Px4 Type G semi-automatic handgun. She has the ability to use synesthesia to aid her in combat, viewing the world in different colors to tell enemies from civilians.

She is always seen with a red halterneck shirt and brown pants. On her left wrist, she wears a black tattoo that possibly completes a whole picture of a snake with the tattoo on Alphard's arm. She covers this tattoo with a layered red armband, which repeatedly gets ripped off during her fights.

And all these stuff - the standard Figma plastic bag, extra hands including one holding her favorite sugar-stick snacks, muzzle flash effect part, the Beretta Px4 Type G semi-automatic handgun, 2 extra face expressions and the standard Figma stand.

Let's have a look at the figure....

The design is pretty simple and this have to do with her simple clothing design as well....

I decided to change the face to this one as this seems to be a little friendly than the other one...

Moving on, articulation is pretty good for a Figma standard... this kneeling post is never a problem.

She can do all this split stuff....

Her favorite sugar-stick snacks...

Her favorite Beretta Px4 Type G semi-automatic handgun with sliding mechanism...

And so now we move on to action pose time....

The sliding mechanism thingy on the gun....

That's all the weapon she have but if you not happy, you can always let her use those weapons from the GunPlaMo kit....

Overall, this is a simple Figma with good articulation and minimum weapon/accessories package. Though this Canaan does not have pretty face like Figma Sun Seto or those Figma from the Nanoha series, I like the anime very much, the plot is interesting and I feel that it is worth to grab this Canaan as a compliment to the great anime.

I would like to dedicated this digirama to my friend "Queenie The Priest" who seems to have hard time now with her study and assignment stuff - you know all those paper work you have to do as a student to pleased your teacher so that you can get good points and pass the exam with flying colors...

One fine day, Bee Dee was on his way to buy the latest AV movie DVD of Yuma Asami, he is really a big fan of Yuma Asami - while walking he watch some footage of the trailer using his mobile phone....

While Sara Fu was waiting for her her friend, John Wong, to pick her up....

And their path crossed each other.... or something like that... in other words... suddenly Bee Dee passed by the place where Sara Fu is standing....

And just like Bill Clinton, Bee Dee's "6th sense" suddenly activated....

Apparently Char Bee was admitted into Shewsbury Hospital for about a week or so. The X-Ray scanning reveal the following analysis...

And that's the way the world is... everybody have their own opinion based on what they knew or believe though that is not necessarily the truth...

The usual plastic bag, The Cross Mirage - 5 units of them representing 3 different forms that comes with the yellow or rather orange effect parts...

The extra hands, the extra long hair part, extra front hair part and 1 additional face expression.

Let's have a look at the figure...

Articulation wise for a Figma level is absolutely incredible. Despite the lovely mini skirt, she can still do this usual kneeling pose of Shewsbury Land... brilliant, absolutely brilliant...

She can perform this Kamen Rider Kick easily....

More articulations means lots of fun....

My first impression of this Figma Teana Lanster is that she have such a beautiful face... definitely as one of the strength points of Figma by Masaki Apsy (Maki Asai) - the brilliant lovely face, either same or at least very close to the anime....

OK then... action pose time....

Her main weapon apart from the hidden Dildo hidden inside her panty - The Cross Mirage twin gun...

As for the details on the Cross Mirage... not much really... you can see that X thingy there....

The same X thingy that you will see on her belt with also the crossing X type.... very useful for special bondage sex activities....

Shoot them all..... phew phew phew.....

I personally love this effect parts.... it's so gorgeous.... make it look like a beam knife or something...

What ever action pose you choose... Teana is absolutely beautiful....

That's about it.... if you have this Figma you can do any action pose that you can think off or what ever that you like it to be....

1 concern that I have about this Figma Teana Lanster is on 1 of the hair part - the twin pony tails.... just like any other Figma with such hair - they have articulation there but I wonder how durable it is...

This one though is sealed firmly so I cannot see what materials they choose this time around.... for sure it is not the Figma joint like what being used on Figma Black Rock Shooter....

Apart from that... I have no complain at all.

Overall, this is one hell of a beautiful Figma with one of the best articulation and posing capabilities promising lots of fun and the extra effects part for all the guns is an added wonderful bonus. A must have for Nanoha series fans - at 2,667 yen (about SGD 43.00) before shipment charges - this is indeed a very great deal for your money.... grab them now while stock last...

Figma Black Rock Shooter

This is the review of Figma Black Rock Shooter from the OVA of Black Rock Shooter.

This time around we purposely bought 2 units coz we want to display 1 with the 2 lovely cannons and the other 1 with 2 swords...

The box....

Comes with a very nice freebies - 1 unit of the original Black Rock Shooter OVA DVD... All Region, Japanese Audio, 7 subtitles translation selections (English, Chinese and few other European major languages)

Out of the box....

The just wrapped the DVD inside this "envelope-like" paper.... I think it's quite nice though... using paper reduce the weight of the whole package a little bit....

The DVD....

Very nice.... there is Max Factory logo here and there..... awesome.... after Bandai, Max Factory is the other toy company that Shewsbury Land love the most....

As for the OVA.... when I watched it I kind of guessing the story line to be this and that.... and after I read from Wikipedia, it confirmed my guess earlier.... I don't blame it if some people can't understand the story as they use the Quentin Tarantino style (nonlinear storylines )...

Below is the plot explanation from Wikipedia;

Black Rock Shooter begins at the start of the school year in April. On her first day of junior high school, Mato Kuroi (黒衣マト, Kuroi Mato, Voiced by: Kana Hanazawa) makes friends with a girl named Yomi Takanashi (小鳥遊ヨミ, Takanashi Yomi?, Voiced by: Miyuki Sawashiro) who recently moved to the town. Mato quickly joins the basketball club, which incites Yomi to join the volleyball club since both clubs practice at the same time in the gymnasium. The two spend much time together over the following year, and during one outing Mato gives Yomi the same cellphone charm she has. In their second year of junior high, they end up in different classes, reducing the amount of time they can spend together. Furthermore, Yomi starts to become jealous of Mato hanging around her basketball club manager and classmate Yuu (ユウ, Voiced by: Kana Asumi).

When Yomi seemingly disappears, Mato becomes concerned when she does not show up at school the next day or respond to her text messages. Mato becomes further depressed when she receives word that Yomi has been reported missing and is asked about her whereabouts by two detectives. Those chains seen in the fighting scene from the OVA and the Black Blade Sword - I didn't see it in the OVA though but what happen in the OVA is the Rock Cannon can transform into a huge sword-like mode...

2 extra face expression and 1 extra front hair part with blue flame effect....

As usual let's have a look at the figure first....

Articulation for a Figma class is extremely excellent.... this kneeling pose is never a problem...

The jacket have some articulation (just like those found on Figma Saber) - they use Figma joints on this part.... very nice...

And what it seems to be a new and welcome improvement is that Max Factory decided to use the Figma joints on the hair's twin tails and this provide great articulation and more importantly durability..... well done Max Factory, you deserved a lot of praise on this one....

Well.... action pose time....

We will start with the Black Blade Sword.... made in Saitama steel factory.... hehehehehe....

Oh yeah... we have 2 units.... so let's do some "nito-ryu"

Playing around with the chains....

And finally now.... the Rock Cannon.... we got 2 of them..... looks more cool this way....

Interestingly, in the OVA, that cannon is just as long as her legs.... just till her waist part in fact... it is not really as gigantic as we've seen in the Figma and PVC counterparts - but then, the bigger it is, the cooler it looks.... who care right? we just love it this way....

Shoot the pimp.....

In the OVA, the cannon acts like a gatling machine gun... I mean, it can shoot rapidly easily....

This is what we hope to see... both of them side by side with 2 different set of weapons....

Overall, for the first time ever we want to say this Figma is the best we ever got from Max Factory. At 2,667 yen (about SGD 43.00) before adding what ever shipment charges, this Figma offer great value for money and certainly worth every single dollar you spent on it.... no regret, you should grab 2 units instead of 1.

I personally feel that in terms of figure design, accessories and sales package, this is so far is The Best Figma of 2010 and I can understand why it is so popular amongst the Figma and PVC figure collectors....

I guess, we have no choice now but to order Figma Dead Master as well.... sigh....

Figma Saber Alter

The standard Figma plastic, extra hands, the sword (dark form of Excalibur), 1 extra face expression and 1 extra front hair part....

The usual spin...

I like that creepy mask.... or is it some sort of visor maybe? what ever... but sure looks cool...

The dark-hued armor with blood-red stripes is magnificent...

Unlike the Limited Edition Figma Saber Extra, the skirt of this Figma Saber Alter is move-able and have decent articulation to assist you when doing the action pose....

And thus the kneeling pose is not a problem at all....

This mask or eye cover or visor, what ever, is apparently was glued to this particular front hair part and thus it is fixed there.... unlike the one on Figma Rider...

The 2 face expression that comes with this Figma...

Overall, for 2,667 yen (about SGD 42.00) this Figma is matched our expectation of beautiful finishing and excitement offered by Max Factory.

I've been waiting long time now for Max Factory to produce this Figma.

Kaiyodo released their "Revoltech 2G Saber Alter" in summer 2007 (retailed at 2,380 yen - about SGD 37.00).

It took a solid 3 years before Max Factory launched their "counter attack" for that item from Kaiyodo and personally for me, I think it's worth the wait.

The only complain I have for this Figma is that the hands for holding the sword is kind of "loose" when I attached it to the arm but I think this can be solved using the White Glue....

Saber Armor Version is the 2nd Figma to arrived in Shewsbury Land (the first were the 5 Figmas of Haruhi and gang) and ever since then, we love Figma Saber a lot.

Ok, now let's take out those items inside the other box....

First and foremost, the Figma Saber Extra....

And you will also get this Fate/Extra PSP game and a sketch book of Fate/Extra with the soundtrack CD...

I don't have any Sony PSP, so I can throw this away....

Anyway, it's in Japanese as this is actually at first for Japan exclusive release only but if you know some people or some online shop with influence... you might be able to get it with a premium price of course....

Did you see that on the above photo, on the bottom right of the box it is stated that "FOR JAPAN ONLY"

And now let's have a look at the "Fate/Extra" Visual Works.... some sort of sketch book...

You can see lovely stuff inside it....

And lastly this sound track CD..... all of the musics are instrumental and more into Jazz type.... I guess must be the music from the game.

Let's have a look at the lovely Figma Saber Extra....

You will get the figure....

The standard Figma plastic bag, extra hands, the sword, 1 extra front hair part, 1 extra face expression, the standard Figma stand with the special clip to hold the Figma/figure.

Let's look at the body....

As expected from Figma... the face of Saber is brilliant....

The detailing is simple and yet elegant....

Though I don't like that "see through" front skirt part... I hate it that the under pants of Saber is visible.... it might be sexy for some of you but I prefer it to be a just plain white color so that I don't see those under pants... this seems to be my only complain in this Figma but then again, that's how they designed it so I have to live with it....

No standard hole at the back.... all is nice and clean.... which is why they give you that clip to hold the Figma when you attached it to the standard Figma display stand....

The red and black colored sword of Saber Extra....

Articulation wise - for head, neck, shoulder, elbow, arms, hands and waist is basically the standard that you would expect from Figma. However, due to the special design of the dress for this one, the skirt part is not move-able and thus you can't really do the kneeling pose....

Though with some nice adjustment and balancing, you can still surely do some other action pose...

Side by side with Figma Saber Armor Version.

And now all the 3 Figma Saber available in Shewsbury Land..... Saber Alter, Saber Armor, Saber Extra... too bad we missed the brilliant white dress Saber Lily....

Overall, for 9,980 yen (about SGD 157.00) this item is quite pricey but if you consider the fact that it comes with PSP game and those extra magazine and sketch book and original sountrack - plus all of them comes with such a nice cover and packaging.... it seems to worth it, especially if you like Saber and even better if you also happen to have PSP and can play the game...

Most of the original PSP game usually retailed at around SGD 70.00 to SGD 80.00 like that? Am I right?

So if based on that, assuming that the PSP game bundled on this item is at around SGD 80.00 - the Figma (and all the accessories) will cost at around SGD 45.00, that means the remaining SGD 32.00 is to cover the price of that 2 CD and those extra freebies (magazine and sketch book).

By the way, that 9,980 yen is not including shipment charges yet.... so I guess if you want to hunt this item in E-Bay now.... be prepare to spent around above SGD 200.00 and some seller will surely ask for higher price than that... Good luck, if it's me, I won't buy it at such ridiculous price for sure.... there are plenty of other items that we can buy....

I can't comment on the PSP game it self as I don't have Sony PSP but I'm sure there are other site out there who can provide the review of the game.

This item is certainly for hardcore fans of Fate/Stay Night and/or the character - Saber. This is really not something for everybody but even so, I believe that it would be nice if Max Factory can just release all these so-called "special limited items" for mass market so that many people can buy it at reasonable price....

But that's not gonna happen right? Sigh....

Figma Shirou Emiya

This is the review of Figma Shirou Emiya (Emiya Shirou) from the anime Fate/Stay Night.

Shirou Emiya is the main character of the story. He is a serious yet helpful, hardworking, and honest teenager. His hobbies include fixing a variety of broken things, from VCRs to stoves, as well as cooking and cleaning.

He has some slight talent with sorcery, though he was discouraged by his foster father Kiritsugu Emiya from improving his gifts. He is initially confused about the Holy Grail War and attempts to irrationally shield others from danger, including his own Servant, Saber.

The figure....

Extra/optional hands, extra face expression, two swords - Kanshou and Bakuya, Berserker's battle axe and Archer's left arm...

Also included is this manual to show you how to swap the arms and attached the big axe. The other manual I'm not really sure what is it about - something mentioning hair dryer might be helpful if needed....

Let's have a look at the figure....

As simple as it should be but I think the neck is a little bit leaning to much forward... same issue like Figma Kagura though not as bad...

Since this is Figma, articulation is never an issue and since this figure does not wear mini skirt, the hip and leg's movement range is slightly better and wider, you can do this kneeling pose without any problem what so ever...

So without further delay... it's action pose time...

Well I guess, that is enough, you can do many action pose that you can think off with this figure and have lots of fun with it....

By the way I wish to highlight about the Archer's left arm. Though you can see the picture on the manual but the explanation is all in Japanese.

So I hope this can be a helpful information to those of you who are still new with Figma and especially this Figma Emiya Shirou.

This left arms comes with a white thingy to cover that joint hole connecting to the shoulder part.

You have to remove that white thing....

The next step is to gently removing the left arms of the figure.... you can twist and pull but do it slowly and gently - excessive force might end up with you breaking up something....

And lastly, just attach that left arm to that left shoulder join part....

And you ready to rock....

Last but not least - just attach that axe to the hole on the hand....

That's about it.... 1 last photo of all the Figma from Fate Stay/Night available in Shewsbury Land. We will soon get the Figma Saber Alter and Figma Saber Extra (red dress) - we will review here it once we get it.

Overall, this is a must addition to your Figma collection for Fate/Stay Night anime series especially if you are a big fan of that series - like we do. Articulation is great, comes with brilliant weapon collections - a great value for your money.

Figma Rider

This is the review for Figma Rider from the anime series of Fate/Stay Night.

Rider is the servant of Shinji, first seen scouting around Homurabara Gakuen.

Rider is silent, sultry, and vigilant, never hesitating to shield her Master from harm. With Shinji incapable of lending Mana to her, she is forced to seek alternative means to augment her abilities.

To compensate for her weakness, Rider employs covert battle tactics and takes full advantage of territory around her.

There are plentiful of cool characters in Fate/Stay Night and I guess many of us wished that Max Factory will produce most of the Figma from that anime...

It's a wishful thinking but don't give up, a year ago or earlier, even I didn't expect that Figma Rider will be produced but obviously now... they did produced her so the chances for other character to appear in Figma is there but we just have to wait further...

So now let's have a look at the Figma Rider...

The weapon, a pair of long iron nails fastened to opposite ends of a single chain...

1 extra face expression and the standard Figma stand and of coz the Figma plastic bag...

OK let's look at the Figma Rider's body...

The hair is quite a lot and quite long and Max Factory use the new light materials for the hair which is a nice thing...

Certain parts of the hair apparently is moveable... something like this;

This is the thing that allowed such movement...

And even better... certain parts of the hairs are quite soft and you can bend them - something like this;

I can't help but notice that the breast is quite nice... nonetheless... the eye cover can be detached easily - to reveal the full face of Rider...

In fact she is quite pretty - with nice breast...

Articulation is quite good, you can perform lots of action pose for her...

The hair can be troublesome at times but sometimes it does helpful to balance the action pose...

And now, some action pose with the weapons...

To make it more fun... let's have some battle between Saber, Rin and Rider....

Outrages.... the final form of Rider is Shocker Rider? That is outrages... I cannot believe it my self...

Overall, this is such a nice and beautiful Figma to have especially for the big fans of Fate/Stay Night anime series. I don't have anything to complain about on this Figma, the moment I took it out from the box, everything is so fun and enjoyable and the color scheme of black and purple is actually quite beautiful.

The breast surely worth to mentioned, I think one of the best breast amongst all the female Figma and perhaps only those ladies (Figma) from Ikktousen can compete with Rider in that department...

As for the big/long hair... it is quite unique and there is nothing to worry about something that will break apart as there is no visible connectors thingy what so ever but I would hope that next time Max Factory can try to experiment (on other Figma/characters) using the soft part for the hair, say 70% of the hair parts....

No joke but true, after Figma Tsukasa Hiiragi this Figma Rider is suddenly my 2nd most favorite Figma of all.

If you can still grab this item from any online shop or any other local retail shop near you, don't think twice, it worth the money you pay for her...

Figma Yomi Isayama

This is the review for Figma Yomi Isayama (諫山黄泉, Isayama Yomi) from the anime Ga-rei and Ga-Rei Zero.

Sister-figure of Kagura Tsuchimiya who turned evil because of the power of the sesshōseki. Also, she was the person who killed Kagura Tsuchimiya's father. She was killed by Kagura herself and has turned completely evil in her afterlife. She was extraordinarily talented when alive and slaughtered over 70 ministry agents by herself, and defeated the head of the Tsuchimiya clan and his spirit beast, Byakuei. As an evil spirit, she becomes even more powerful. She tries to awaken a great demon sealed in Tokyo, and seals a piece of the sesshōseki in Nimura Kensuke. For this, she incurs Kazuhiro's wrath, and he takes away her own sesshōseki. She dies when the demon is re-sealed.

Yomi's past is prominently revealed in Ga-Rei: Zero, where she is shown to be more of a tragic heroine. She lost her parents at a young age to specters, and was taken in by Isayama Naraku, then head of the Isayama family. Yomi grew to love and respect her foster-father, and polished her skills to repay him for his kindness. Her efforts led to her inheritance of the priced Isayama heirloom, the sword Shishio, which held the spiritual beast Nue in it. Before Naraku's death, she was betrothed to Izuna Noriyuki and would have succeeded Naraku as the next Isayama head. However, Naraku's death at the hands of her cousin Mei, who was jealous of her good fortune, and the alteration of Naraku's will, resulted in her being stripped of her position in the family and therefore her entire inheritance. Yomi eventually found out the truth behind her father's death, revealed by Mei herself after the latter lured her out in order to kill her. Partly in self-defense, she killed Mei and avenged Naraku, but was ambushed by Mitagawa Kazuhiro, who wounded her so badly that she became hospitalized, her throat and most of the tendons in her body cut and unrepairable, unable to talk or move. This, in addition to the suspicion that she had murdered Mei, led to a series of events that caused her to succumb to Mitagawa's temptation to accept the sesshōseki. Though Yomi managed to retain some control over her mind, she had nonetheless fallen under the destructive influence of the stone, causing her to kill many many members of the Agency. Ultimately, it was her love and desire to protect Kagura that caused her death at Kagura's hands, in a desperate wish that she could remove anything that would harm Kagura, including herself.

She is known as the "Black Priestess", which is the opposite of Kagura.

First let's have a look at the Figma body....

Yomi and her mobile phone... seems like one of those Sony Ericsson or LG slider models...

2 types of (rear) hair parts offered 2 different looks...

Probably one of the most important new development on this Figma is the one that I have been wanting for such a long time now and I've been complaining about this to Max Factory and also in few others online forum about the weakness on the hair connector parts for most of the Figma.

With Figma Yomi, finally Max Factory agree to choose different material - which is in fact the same material used for the Figma elbow joint and this material is in fact much better and stronger (durable) than the previous "clear part" which can break easily....

And this is the items used on all of the previous Figma... here I use Figma Kagami Winter Version as an example...

Other Figmas with long hair that use similar type of hair connectors is Figma Signum, Figma Nanoha Tamakachi the first version (Jacket Barrier), Figma Rin Tousaka and maybe few others that I don't have (and maybe those that I'm not interested with).

Talking about Figma Signum, mine already broke when the Figma suddenly fall down from my display shelf, end up I super glue it and now it can't move anymore. Figma Rin Tousaka could be next as recently when I clean up my shelf, I accidentally "move"the hair roughly and I can see some crack now... another hard impact will broke the connector surely...

Good job and all the praise to Masaki Asai and the whole design team in Max Factory. I hope in future they will do more improvement and use better material so that the Figma can be more durable.

OK, enough with that... some photos with Kagura Tsuchimiya....

Never mind about the Shocker Rider at the back, his review will be up in Shewsbury Land soon.

OK, now let's see the weapons.... first the katana...

Like we always said in Singapore.... "Don't play play ah... this very hot ah"

Ouch... the sperm will burned on that heat...

So now Yomi and Kagura can battle each other on my display shelf....

Overall this is a nice Figma to have especially if you are a big fan of Ga-Rei and Ga-Rei Zero anime/manga series or if you like girl/women Figma with sword/katana - I certainly like it and usually I will always grab those Figma with sword/katana as their weapon coz my Gundams can borrow that weapon anyway.

For 2,667 yen (about SGD 41.00) before adding whatever shipment charges, this Figma offer great value for money and the new material used for the hair connector is a welcomed and much needed improvement that could lead to longevity plus the unique iron weapon of "Douglas 28" is certainly one of a kind...

If you can grab this Figma from anywhere at reasonable price, don't think further... just take it.

Figma Kagura Tsuchimiya

This is the review for Figma Kagura Tsuchimiya (Japanese style: Tsuchimiya Kagura) from the anime of Garei-Zero.

Some information about the anime from Wikipedia;

The Enchained Spiritual Beast Ga-Rei (喰霊, Ga-rei?), also simply known as Ga-rei, is supernatural action manga by Hajime Segawa (瀬川はじめ, Segawa Hajime?). It has been serialized by Kadokawa Shoten in the magazine Monthly Shōnen Ace and collected in eleven tankōbon volumes. An anime series taking place before the manga, Ga-Rei: Zero, was released on October 5, 2008, serving as a prequel to Ga-rei where members of the Agency including a younger Kagura and active Noriyuki are hunting down rogue spirits in the Greater Tokyo Area.

Always smiling, Kagura is the heroine of the story. She is feisty and ambitious and can put up a good fight with her spiritual beast, the Ga-Rei Byakuei (nicknamed Shirō), an inugami who resembles a large white dragon. She controls Byakuei from the seal on her back and a long chain that connects her soul to his, so any damage Byakuei receives also damages her as well. Over time, she becomes stronger and more motivated because of the support that Kensuke gives her. She shows signs of having feelings for Kensuke, as she gets jealous when Shizuru and Kensuke are spotted alone together and is shocked when Kyouko tells her that she should go out with Kensuke if she's worried about him. Although she initially treats Shizuru as a rival, they become closer as events in the manga progress.

The anime shows a younger Kagura. Originally a shy, dutiful and sad young girl, her meeting with Yomi after her mother's death changed her life. She came to love Yomi, who treated her like a sister, and was under great emotional stress when she found out that Yomi had turned against the Agency and all of humanity.

In the anime, Kagura receives Byakuei from her father prior to his death, and her new weapon from Michael Kohara, the "Michael 13." The "Michael 13" would later be destroyed in a battle with Yomi, which is why Kensuke received the "Michael 12" instead of the 13. In the same battle that broke the "Michael 13," Kagura killed Yomi with the weapon Noriyuki left before his departure. Her bitter victory was a key which unlocked her restraints against fighting former-humans, as, according to Iwahata, once she killed the most important person to her, she would no longer have any reservations about killing anything else.

After gaining all of the sesshōseki and being deemed the victor, Kagura becomes the Kyuubi itself and rampages across the city, eventually being stopped by Kensuke. She has lost her memories as a result. She attends Kensuke's school and makes a temporary Psychic Consultant group. She's decided to continue the spirit investigations feeling it may unlock something.

Kagura regains some of her memories in chapters 38 and 39, and immediately recognizes "Izumi Isoyama" as Yomi. This causes Izumi/Yomi's transformation into a monster because of the sesshōseki. However, before Kensuke can stab Yomi, Kagura steps in front of his blade, removing the evil from Yomi and causing her to revert back into Izumi. She breaks her out of the Agency and goes on the run before "Judgement Day" caught up with them, during the struggle she finally remembers Kensuke.

She is known by the members of "Judgement Day" as the "White Priestess", the opposite of Yomi.

So let's have a look at this Figma...

The box;

Out of the box, you will get all these stuff... the figma, the extra hands, red mobile phones, the katana (Michael 13) and the sheath, the gold color special knife or whatever it is and of coz 2 extra face expressions and the standard Figma stand.

Let's have a look at the body of the figure...

The design is quite simple, no long hair and no extra clothing stuff that can limit the movement range and articulations.

Articulation wise is never an issue... it is as good as any other Figma with school uniform...

I'm glad that Max Factory included the red mobile phones - if you watch the anime, you will see it many times and Kagura always look at the photo of her and Yomi on the screen of the phone - which I think she set as wallpaper...

The complain I have about the mobile phone is that it's quite too simple... Figma Tsukasa Hiiragi Winter Version have better detailed mobile phone if compared to this one.

So without further delay... some action pose with the Michael 13;

The manual shows how to attached those chains onto the sheath of the katana... it's pretty easy anyway but no harm double check with the manual anyway...

I personally think that the Michael 13 looks more interesting with those chains now..

Lastly the golden knife... not sure what is the name... but it's nice to have....

Apart from my little complain about the lack of details on the mobile phone, my other bigger complain is obviously the neck design... I think it bend forward too much... maybe a little bit of adjustment would be better. As it is now, the head looks a little funny when you turn the face to the left or right shoulder....

Overall, if you are a big fan of Ga-Rei Zero and/or if you are like me who is a big fan of girl figurines with katana or any other sword, you certainly would like to have this Figma together with Figma Yomi (to be released by end of May 2010).

Apart from the neck, I guess I don't have any other problem with this Figma, the painting job, the accessories and the overall quality is in good quality and I'm satisfied with it.

This is the review for Figma Hiiragi Tsukasa Summer Uniform Version

Don't worry, there wont be too many photos in this review as this item is not something new anyway... perhaps you have seen other detailed review than this one here today.

The price is 2,381 yen (about SGD 36.00) before adding whatever shipment charges (which I guess between SGD 15.00 to SGD 20.00 depending on where you live) and I guess that is quite OK.

Out of the box, you will get all these stuff;

The face emotion customization sticker which you can later stick on the blank face, the head of the lesbian Hiyori Tamura, the black school bag, extra hands...

Here the 2 extra face... 1 with black expression and the other 1 with some funny expression... I don't know how to explain that expression...

And last but not least the standard Figma stand and of coz not to forget, the plastic bag which is not shown here...

As always, let's have a look at the Figma first...

Articulation? Well, there is no need to prove anything on that... this is Figma and we all know that they can do very well in that department....

As for the blank face... one have to play around with the stickers provided.... I'm kind of lazy to really touch them now... maybe next time I will try it...

And now this is the same Figma body using the head of that lesbian Hiyori Tamura... well to be honest I don't know if she is lesbian or straight but I just like to say that... lesbian can be fun sometimes....

With such big glasses and dark long hair she looks like a nerd isn't it? Remind me of that music video You Belong To Me by Taylor Swift is it ? Or is it "moe moe kawai" thing...

I taken the liberty to use the face of Hiyori Tamura and try it on Tsukasa's hair and this is the result that I get...

In fact the face of Hiyori Tamura without glasses is not that much different from Tsukasa isn't it?

On this angle, this is then... The Demon Tsukasa.... look at her face expression and her eyes.... cool... again this photo is over exposed...

Overall this is just another standard Figma, nothing great to talk about it other than those black school bag and maybe those extra head of Hiyori Tamura and of coz those blank face and customization stickers - that's about it...

And there is nothing bad I could say about it as well... everything is within my expectation and I really don't have any complains...

But if you are a big fan of Lucky Star and the Hiiragi Twins (like me) ... you sure want to get this item and you better grab them fast as you'll never knew suddenly they can just disappear from the market and by that time it is too late for you to get them at a reasonable price.

Figma Hayate Yagami Knight Version

This is Figma Hayate Yagami Knight Version, the mistress of the Book of Darkness and the Wolkenritter (Signum, Vita, Shamal and Zafira) from the anime/series of Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha.

At 2,667 yen (about SGD 41.00 / NZD 41.00 / AUD 33.00 / USD 29.00) before shipment charges, slightly higher than the average Figma price (around 2,400 yen) and I personally feel that the price is a little expensive as you can get Figma Yuki Nagato which also offers decent extra accessories and the price is only 2,381 yen...

This is basically the 4th Figma from the Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha that we have here... though they are not that great when it comes to articulation and dynamic action pose.... nonetheless all the Figmas from this series certainly looks beautiful and the dress or the clothing that they wear is quite unique...

Let's have a look at Hayate...

Articulation wise.... apart from the head that can turn to left and right, the arms can move freely but the legs is quite restricted by the skirt...

However you can still do some fun poses with it....

Lucky cat style ?

To attached the hat is not difficult at all, its a straight forward method but it doesn't fit tightly.... move the Figma a bit and the hat can easily fall down.... I hate that part and this seems to be my only complain on this Figma... The hat mechanism on Figma Vita is obviously a great improvement to make it stay intact....

Ok, let's read the magic words;

In these final 2 photos, I just want to show you how useful that Tamashii Stage is....

I will display Hayate and her bandidas like this on my cabinet...

Overall, in my opinion this is slightly an overpriced Figma which at the end offers almost the same standard sales package and perhaps other Figma offers more accessories and still the price is cheaper = Figma Yuki Nagato.

Nonetheless... we cannot take away the credit and the fact that Figma Hayate Yagami and the others from the same series (Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha) is beautiful and quite unique if compared to the usual Figma with "school uniform".

If you have Hayate, make sure you get the Signum and Vita and maybe also the Shamal - though I am not interested at all with Shamal...
